A strong publication record is critical for success in funding and tenure applications. The purpose of this interactive session is to provide Early Career Researchers (ECRs) with strategic approaches and guidance that accelerate the development of manuscripts and improve the impact of publications. This interactive session will feature talks from researchers at different career stages, as well as insights from a journal editor. A panel discussion will allow audience members to ask questions that are relevant to their current publication goals.

Speakers:

  • Christine Mummery, PhD, Professor, Developmental Biology, Universiteit Leiden, President, International Society of Stem Cell Research, Founding Editor, Stem Cell Reports

Learning Objectives/Content:

  • Determining authorship: managing collaborations, publishing with your former supervisor, and settling disputes
  • Selecting an appropriate journal for submission
  • Weighing volume vs. impact and how this varies between institutions
