Funding will be deployed through SCN’s Incubation Investment Award (IIA) Program — designed to advance pre-seed and seed-staged Canadian regenerative medicine (RM) companies. SCN’s investment program will support high-potential biotechs by enabling the generation of critical data packages to attract third-party investment and accelerate company growth. Investments will range from $250,000 to $1 million per company, with funds released in tranches over a two-to-three-year period and contingent on the achievement of defined scientific and business milestones.

On September 21, 2026, SCN announced RejuvenRx as the inaugural recipient of the Incubation Investment Award, awarding the company $1 million to advance its technology and strengthen its readiness for future investment and development. 

Company Spotlight: RejuvenRX

RejuvenRx is a Montreal-based biotechnology company developing a next-generation oral medicine that aims to restore healthy blood-forming stem cells and help rebuild the immune system. If successful, the technology could offer a new treatment option for patients with serious blood cancers and other diseases who currently have few alternatives beyond stem cell transplantation.

The company was co-founded by Drs. Anne Marinier and Guy Sauvageau, key members of the internationally recognized team behind the discovery of UM171, a life-saving molecule developed at Université de Montréal that improves the effectiveness of stem cell transplants for patients with blood cancers.

Building on the scientific expertise behind UM171, RejuvenRx is pursuing a new strategy focused on treating blood stem cell disorders at their source.
