Stem Cell Network is deploying a new funding opportunity to directly advance Canadian regenerative medicine biotechnology companies.

Funding will be deployed through SCN’s Incubation Investment Award (IIA) Program — designed to advance pre-seed and seed-staged Canadian regenerative medicine (RM) companies. SCN’s investment program will support high-potential biotechs by enabling the generation of critical data packages to attract third-party investment and accelerate company growth. Investments will range from $250,000 to $1 million per company, with funds released in tranches over a two-to-three-year period and contingent on the achievement of defined scientific and business milestones.

Important Dates

  • Monday, September 8, 2025: Stage 1 application submissions open.
  • Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. PT: Stage 1 application submissions close.
  • Wednesday, October 22, 2025: Applicants will be notified if they have been selected to move forward with Stage 2 of the application process.
  • Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. PT: Stage 2 document submission deadline for due diligence assessment of invited applicants.
  • Monday, February 2, 2026: Stage 2 Applicants notified if they have been invited to move forward to the pitch presentation component of the application process.
  • Monday, February 9 and Tuesday, February 10, 2026: Virtual pitch presentations for selected applicants.
  • March 31, 2026: Award notifications made.
  • Spring 2026: Expected deployment of the first tranche of funding, dependent on contract negotiations.
