Stem Cell Network Launches New Award Competition in Social, Ethical, and Economic Implications for Regenerative Medicine

June 17, 2024 (Ottawa) – The Stem Cell Network is pleased to launch a new initiative, the Stem Cell Network – Doctoral Research Awards in Social, Ethical, and Economic Implications for Regenerative Medicine. This new opportunity will support promising Ph.D. students in Canada who are conducting Social, Ethical, and Economic Implications research focused on addressing the complex challenges and opportunities presented by the development and application of regenerative medicine technologies.

With the application process launching today, the program will support up to two awards, commencing between January 1, 2025 and March 1, 2025. The value of each award is $25,000 per year, for one year. The Stem Cell Network will also provide the successful Awardee(s) with a registration and travel support to attend SCN’s annual scientific meeting, the Till & McCulloch Meetings (TMM).

Timeline:

  • Funding opportunity launch: June 17, 2024
  • Application deadline: September 10, 2024, 17:00 ET
  • Notice of decision: October 4, 2024
  • Funding start date: January 1, 2025 (Award must be started no later than March 1, 2025)
