Build Your BioFuture: National Career Info Fair for Emerging Biotechnology & Biomanufacturing Talent is a four-hour virtual event connecting students and recent graduates in life sciences with top employers in Canada’s biomanufacturing, biotechnology, and cell and gene therapy sectors. Co-hosted by CASTL and the Stem Cell Network (SCN), the fair will feature career panels, fireside chats, and interactive networking opportunities with sector companies. Who Should Attend?

This event is designed for students and recent graduates in life sciences and engineering, as well as CASTL alumni to connect with biomanufacturing and biotechnology companies across Canada. Attendees should be currently located in Canada and affiliated with either CASTL or SCN (see further eligibility criteria below).

Event Objectives:

  • Elevate visibility of key employers in the cell and gene therapy, regenerative medicine, and biomanufacturing spaces.
  • Connect postsecondary students (BSc, MSc, Ph.D.), CASTL alumni with career opportunities in Canada’s biomanufacturing and biotechnology sectors.
  • Provide an overview of potential career paths, including in the biomanufacturing sector.
  • Share career stories, insights, and networking tips from industry leaders and peers.

Eligibility

Attendees should meet one of the following criteria:

CASTL: Completed one of the CASTL programs: CASTL Elevate, BioBridge, PEI or BC Reskilling or a student who has participated in curriculum delivery through a CASTL affiliated academic institution. Applicants will be screened and approved for participation in this event.

SCN Members & Partners: Attendees must be, either currently or within the last two years, a trainee or highly qualified personnel (HQP) (i.e., an undergraduate, graduate student, post-doc, research associate and/or technician) working on a research project in the field of stem cells and regenerative medicine in a Canadian lab.
